Doubting Atheism
Here’s a thought provoking video on athiest’s view that the universe is just made up of electrons and “blind physical forces.”

Save the Date: Bootcamp
Save the date: May 4-5 will be our annual Bootcamp where we will provide training in evangelism and discipleship. We start on Friday night, and end up around noon the next day. It will take place at a church in the area, and you’ll be able to go home Friday night and sleep in your own bed. Get ready by saving the date. You won’t want to miss it.

Myths of the Resurrection
For Easter this year, here’s a series of short videos on the resurrection of Christ. They aren’t complete (you need to buy the DVD series or consider asking for it for Christmas), but there’s still enough here to think about and encourage you.
Reclaiming the Mind says: “This is just one of the many myths about Christianity that millions of people have bought into. But one thing remains certain — Jesus died on the cross and rose again 3 days later. That’s not just faith — it’s FACT — and there’s a strong historical foundation to support this.”

Thirsty: A 2 Week Devotional
Once, I asked a college student who grew up in the church what they knew about the Holy Spirit. Her reply was that the Holy Spirit came to kill all the first born Egyptians while the nation of Israel escaped into the wilderness. Apart from that, there wasn’t anything else she could tell me about the Holy Spirit. (By the way, it doesn’t exactly say that in Exodus 12:29)
Thirsty is a 2 week devotional designed to help you understand the Person of the Holy Spirit and what importance he has in your life. You can download it as a PDF or buy it online at CruPress for $10.95.

Summer Projects Recap
Here’s a list of the summer projects that are still open and we recommend:
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is one of the newer summer projects. It is unique in that you have opportunities to minister on local college campuses and take a summer course at Santa Monica City College. It is similar in structure to the Ocean City project in many ways as well. Our own Matt Pfaff will be on staff on this project this summer. Send him a message if you have more questions.
San Diego Express
Express is designed for the student who doesn’t have 8 weeks to spare in the summer, but still wants to get training in leadership and ministry skills. It is only 2 weeks long and is close by in San Diego. Jim Kercheval will be one of the project directors, and he also hopes that many Cal Poly Pomona students will join him there this summer!
Australia
This too will involve starting up ministries college campuses. Since school is in session in the summer in Australia, this is a perfect time to meet students and share Christ.
Estonia (Student Venture)
This project is in one of the least religious countries in the world. It involved outreach to high school students in the country. The team will consist of both college students and high school students.
Tailgate Party Tomorrow!
Join us tomorrow for a tailgating party at the top of the parking structure from 5-7pm. Park your car up top, bring a chair, blanket and a main dish and something to drink for yourself. Then we’ll walk over to watch the last Men’s Basketball game of the season at 7:30. Bring your ID for the game so you get in free.
Get Ready for Spring Break 2012
It’s tradition. Every year we take a trip somewhere in the Pacific Southwest to experience ministry in a different context. Last year, we went to Tucson to share our faith on a community college campus and serve a local church. The previous year, we went to Fresno State. This year, we’re going to San Jose where we will work on campus as SJSU as well as experience doing a service project with a local church. You’ll get a chance to deepen your friendships with others in Cru as well as get some teaching to encourage and challenge you in your walk with the Lord. The theme is The Mysterious Exchange. Be sure to join the Facebook group as well as register to go! You will be glad you made this investment in your time. It won’t take up all of Spring Break either, so you get time to go home and be with your family.
